A 30-year-old bag factory, rebuilt for the AI search era.

Optima Bags has manufactured bags in Delhi since 1995. Afily built and operates its entire digital system: the storefront, the ERP, the content engine, and the AI visibility layer that now brings it US and EU buyers directly from ChatGPT.

The client

Optima Bags is a second-generation, family-run factory in Delhi NCR making bags and soft goods since 1995, with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and SEDEX 4P certifications. It sells factory-direct to brands, churches, startups and event teams across the United States, Europe and India. Four product lines carry the business:

Wholesale tote bags

Canvas, cotton, jute and non-woven totes manufactured factory-direct, from 250-piece event runs to container-scale retail programs.

What we built

Most factories buy marketing in pieces. Optima got one connected system, built in the order a real operation needs it:

STOREFRONT

Shopify storefront and catalog

A factory-direct storefront with digital mockups before payment, structured product data, and buyer-facing pages for manufacturing, gifting and tech pack services.

ERP

Custom ERP on Node and MongoDB

Purchasing worklists, vendor management across 96 suppliers, lot tracking and PO imports, built in-house instead of forcing a factory into off-the-shelf software.

CONTENT

A content engine, not a content calendar

An automated pipeline drafting from a 357-topic pool aimed at real buyer questions: costs, MOQs, materials, import duty math for US buyers.

AI SEARCH

AI visibility as a channel

Schema, llms.txt, entity-consistent profiles and third-party citations, engineered so ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini can find, read and recommend the factory.

OPS

Automation where it pays

WhatsApp task automation for factory staff, daily summaries, and AI-assisted quoting that turns an enquiry into a mockup the same day.

Measured results, not vanity metrics

4,987

AI citations recorded across assistants (Bing report)

202

buyer-focused articles live on the storefront blog

+221

organic visits added in the latest period (Ahrefs)

83

press placements quoting the founder

A US church found the factory through an AI assistant, messaged on a Monday, approved a digital mockup the same day, and had 125 embossed notebooks delivered to San Diego, customs included, at $9 a unit. No ad spend touched that order.

How AI-era buyers actually purchase

Disclosure: Optima Bags is a partner business of the Afily team. We build and operate its digital systems end to end, which is exactly why we publish its numbers openly.
