What We Actually Changed on optimabags.com (A Technical Breakdown)

Pranjal Kukreja · July 2, 2026 · 8 min read

The Optima Bags case study page covers the headline numbers: 5.6x more clicks, 5.1x more impressions, measured directly from Google Search Console. This post is the more technical companion to that, what actually changed on the site to produce that shift.

Starting point

Optima Bags is a factory-direct bag and soft goods manufacturer that had been operating since 1995 with minimal structured digital presence, a storefront but no real content engine, no schema strategy, and no work done toward AI search visibility at all. The technical foundation and the content layer both needed building essentially from zero.

Content: a 357-topic pool, not a content calendar

Instead of a generic blog calendar, we built a topic pool of 357 real buyer questions: costs, minimum order quantities, materials, import duty math for US buyers bringing in factory-direct goods. This is the difference between "content marketing" and a content engine, the topics come directly from what real buyers actually ask before purchasing, not from a keyword tool's volume estimates. Auto Blog, the Shopify app we built, publishes from this pool on an ongoing schedule.

Schema and structured data

Product, Organization, and Article schema were implemented across the storefront and blog, giving both search engines and AI models a machine-readable layer to parse alongside the visual page. For a manufacturing business selling to other businesses, Organization-level entity data (certifications, founding date, location) matters as much as product schema, since B2B buyers and AI models alike are evaluating legitimacy, not just price.

GEO structuring specifically

Beyond classic technical SEO, we implemented llms.txt, verified AI crawler access (GPTBot, Copilot, Gemini's crawlers), and restructured key pages so individual passages, a materials breakdown, an MOQ answer, a lead time, could stand alone and be cited directly. That work is why the case study can point to something more concrete than "increased visibility": a real church in the US found the factory through an AI assistant, messaged directly, and had an order fulfilled within 16 days, with no ad spend involved.

What the numbers actually measure

The 5.6x clicks and 5.1x impressions figures come directly from Google Search Console, comparing a 3-month window before this work to the most recent 3-month window. They're deliberately not a GEO-specific metric, because the technical and content foundation described above improves classic organic search and AI-driven discovery at the same time; they're not separate workstreams competing for the same budget.

This is the same playbook, technical foundation first, then a real content engine, then GEO-specific structuring on top, that we run for AI Consulting and SEO/GEO clients generally. Optima Bags is simply the one we can show you the receipts for.
